Vineyard Transit Authority (VTA) provides an excellent Island-wide transit system. Complete schedules for all routes that serve the Island are available in Oak Bluffs at the Information Booth at the foot of Circuit Avenue, at inns & guesthouses, at the Steamship Authority Terminal and on all buses. Fares are paid on the bus (exact fare advised) or in season ticket sellers are located at the Ocean Park stop in Oak Bluffs. Bus Stop signs are posted along the routes, however, buses will stop if safety permits anywhere along the route if flagged. All buses are wheelchair accessible and are equipped to carry 2 bikes, first come, first served. All routes connect to popular Island destinations, including Family Campground, Youth Hostel, Aquinnah & Menemsha. |
